The Natural World

DP1 Lesson 22:
The Botanical World

In this lesson, we continue to develop our skills with pen and ink by rendering more complex forms in the unit titled The Natural World. The present lesson focuses specifically on the botanical world. We illustrate plant life, or flora, using the pen techniques we learned and practiced in the previous unit. We also learn about botanical illustration to inform our observational drawing and naturalistic rendering of flora. The presentation style of this type of illustration guides us in planning the presentation of our own botanical rendering.
