Drawing with Pen
DP1 Lesson 19:
The Pen Types
In this lesson, we shift away from drawing with pencil to drawing with other media. We begin with pen and provide an overview of pen types along with their uses throughout art history. We learn different techniques to create value with pen, which are different from previous techniques we learned with pencil. We practice hatching, cross-hatching, contour-hatching, stippling, and scumbling to create light and shadow on a flat surface.
